shartia brantley joins us live with news for your money. >> reporter: good morning. auto makers like chrysler, ford, gm, will report october sales later today. sales are forecast to rise 11% from a year ago, which would make it the best october for the industry since 2007. analysts say monday's superstorm on the east coast likely led to the loss of about 100,000 vehicles. dealers should be able to make that up this month. and sandy may have been very bad news for homeowners, but it's bringing some good news to the residential construction sector. "the new york times" reports construction companies will be getting a lot of business. flood waters are pumped out of the neighborhood, power lines are restored and roads are clear of debris. they'll also be able to hire lots of workers. many of whom have been idle due to the housing slump over the past five years. guys, it's interesting to note that lumber futures on the chicago mercantile exchange soared yesterday. the trade there is framing lumber used mainly in home construction. >> thank you. >>> sam's club is helping r
